Valentine’s Day is a funny holiday. It usually stirs up some mixed feelings. While some people embrace the hearts, everlasting love, flowers and chocolates identified with Valentine’s Day, others are more cynical. Let’s face it.. we’ve all been there once or twice. Regardless of how you feel, you’ll be seeing (and probably already are) hearts everywhere you go. Let these hearts remind you to take care of your own.
Heart disease is no joke. According to The American Heart Association, it’s the No. 1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year. Hearing these statistics, we knew we had to get involved. Seeing that the ultimate “heart holiday” was upon us, we realized this was the perfect time to take action. During the month of February, we’re teaming up with The American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign. This movement encourages women to wear red, spread the word and raise funds to fight this preventable disease. And there are many ways you can show support too.
You can join the thousands who will “Go Red” on National Wear Red Day this February 3rd. You can also raise funds by hosting a Hope at Home event. Simply throw a heart themed party and we’ll donate 10% of event sales towards the campaign. We’ll also throw in a free RED ONEHOPE Wine t-shirt. Invite the girls over for a night of wine and cupcakes, or throw a couples wine tasting party. Add a few chocolate treats and you’re set! They say dark chocolate and a little red wine can do a heart good, right? Well here’s a chance to support the reason we celebrate Valentine’s Day — hearts. Protect the organ of love by having a Hope at Home party and making it your mission to fight heart disease in women.
